Eat & Drink Newcastle History walking tour runs Thursday to Sunday. See calendar for tour times.

What You'll Learn
The tour is packed with interesting stories from Newcastle's nighttime economy to keep you informed and entertained. From Newcastle's convict settlers to more recent liquor licence changes, Newcastle has been at the forefront to many changes that have shaped Australia. You’ll learn about convict escapees, female publicans, the six o'clock swill, and rock'n'roll and class riots.
Where You'll Go
We visit 3 of Newcastle's best small venues and try specialty food along the way (think gourmet arancini, sliders, seasonal tapas or similar).
We will give you recommendations for your drink purchases, or you can have a chat to the bar managers for ideas.
Location and Timing
We depart from the fountain in front of Customs House Hotel. Look for your guide wearing a black Newcastle Afoot t-shirt. Please arrive 10 minutes early as we leave on time!
The tour takes approximately 3 hours and it covers 2 kilometres, finishing up near the Civic Precinct.
What to Wear
Comfy closed shoes, neat casual clothes, and an umbrella if it's raining - we go ahead with tours through all weather.
