We are seeking some passionate, high energy tour guides to join our small team. If you love Newcastle and love meeting new people this is the role for you!
We run a range of guided walking tours, school excursions, and scavenger hunts in Newcastle that are engaging, informative and memorable. We help guests discover hidden gems they would never find on their own, learn all about Newcastle including its history, architecture and street art, and have an amazing time!
Successful candidates will be trained to guide history tours, bar tours, and school excursions so you must be adaptable and comfortable with groups of all ages, sizes and interests.
Guides will be responsible for independently running tours and events, problem solving venue and customer issues, and some additional admin and customer service associated with the tour business.
This is a casual position with hours varying week to week, ranging from 2.5 - 15 hours per week to begin with. Most tours will be on weekday mornings but availability for at least 2 weekend tours a month is preferable. The Tour Guide role includes some customer service and social media / administration tasks before and after tours (30 minutes per tour at a minimum). There is potential for additional hours assisting with these tasks - if you have a passion for admin and customer service please let us know!
Conditions of employment are covered by the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2010.
